19/10/2012 – No Matter What It Is, It Needs More Dubstep.

We are in the Three Thing Game competition! Now we wait for Monday so we can our themes, then spent the week creating and gathering assets, before a 36-hour coding marathon from Friday till Sunday.

That’s really all I have right now. Although a dude asked me to post this:

“Matt’s a pretty cool guy, he owns a Mac and doesn’t afraid of anything.”

Later.

14/10/2012 – Current Plans…

Before I continue, I want to point out that I’m a Super Admin at the forum My Gaming Community, and I would appreciate it if you joined. We’re kinda low on members and I want to get more conversations going.

Anyway, I’m looking into doing the “Three Thing Game” competition (Check it out here) with a few guys in my class. Not sure what we’ll be given in terms of themes, but that’s the least of my worries. Coding it, getting the assets, and generally making sure the game is fun to play; are at the forefront of what I want.  I’ve been promised that it’s entertaining, and that pizza will be present, so that’s something to look forward to.

If you were wondering about that text-adventure I was talking about last time, I’m gonna work on it on Wednesday. I’ll write up a quick story and choice selections to get a quick flow chart going, then coding it should take an hour or two. At least it’ll give me more practice with “if” statements and “do while” loops. Not that I’ve been having any trouble with them.

And on my final note, not being able to stream smoothly on my Twitch.tv channel blows. I was kinda expecting it though. Shame, I was going to play Dishonored on it. Really liking the game so far, reminds me of “Thief”.

That’s it for now. Later.

09/10/2012 – Let’s Start-Over

Right, first off; welcome to my blog. I’m not sure how you found this if I didn’t send the direct link, but feel free to stick around if you want.

So all of the important pages are in the site at this point, so I can finally start adding some content… Which I don’t entirely have right now; but soon!

In regards to learning code, it’s coming along nicely. C# doesn’t seem to be a difficult language to get a grip on, although the over-hanging presence of Microsoft software in everything to do with it is rather uncomfortable. I did find a free open-source compiler, Mono, and that lets me keep practising this stuff. I’m tempted to write a text-based adventure game, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

I’ll start adding info to the pages sometime in the next week or so; and if I do make my text-adventure, I’ll be sure to post it in the “Gallery” pages somewhere.
